Program areas at Scarborough Land Conservation Trust
The Scarborough Land Trust had a busy year that included purchasing 8 acres of land, adding to our Fuller Farm Preserve. An additional 30 acres of land were transferred to the Scarborough Land Trust adding to our Warren Woods Preserve. Improvements were made at the Sewell Woods Preserve including an expanded parking area and new trail work. With the help of the Maine Conservation Corps new bog bridges were constructed along sections of the trails. Improvements were also made to the trail system as Pleasant Hill Preserve, adding sections of boardwalk and stabilizing an old barn on the property. Three large bat houses were constructed and added to the barn in the hopes of attracting big brown bats. In partnership with Maine Coast Heritage Trust, a stewardship intern was hired for the summer. A new office manager also joined the staff of the Scarborough Land Trust.
