Scholar Academies

Scholar Academies was established as a school management organization that existed to close the achievement gap and to contribute to national efforts to eradicate educational inequities. Scholar Academies managed a network of high performing schools that provided traditionally underserved, urban students with a meaningful, high quality education. Specifically, Scholar Academies strived to improve educational equity by: a) operating schools that prepare students for the path to college and for entry into the workforce; b) acting as a thought partner with organizations to advance educational systems to positively impact students; and c) challenging the status quo and embracing innovation as a way to improve outcomes for students. Scholar Academies' revenue primarily consisted of contributions, grants and management fees for managing schools in the philadelphia, Washington, dc, trenton, and recently expanded memphis areas and school district subsidies.
