Program areas at School of Leadership-Afghanistan

Sola School is the only boarding School on earth educating afghan girls at the secondary level. Originally based in kabul, afghanistan, sola School evacuated its community of nearly 250 students, faculty, staff, and family members to rwanda in august 2021 in response to the taliban's takeover of afghanistan. Sola School's operations resumed in rwanda in a facility under an extended stay lease. If at some point in the future the security conditions in afghanistan change, sola School will consider returning to kabul. Until then, the School is making rwanda their permanent home. Sola School's program was established to narrow the significant gap in educational quality, and today it serves as a movement to provide access to education to afghan girls. In order to properly administer its program activities upon arrival in rwanda, sola School registered as a private company limited by shares under the name sola ltd. on march 9, 2023, the School was granted non-governmental organization (ngo) status by the rwandan government in the registered name School of leadership afghanistan (sola). In april 2023 sola purchased land for future development in rwanda. Additionally, in may 2023 the sola Inc. board approved the development of an online educational platform for afghan girls and women in the diaspora that will be called solax. This platform will launch in march 2024.
