Description
School Reform Initiative develops transformational learning communities fiercely committed to educational equity and excellence. It provides fee-for-service professional development sessions through national projects and affiliate seminars led by affiliates of the School Reform Initiative or directly contracted with national organizations. The School Reform Initiative annual winter meeting is a 3-day event held in a different US city each year, bringing together 200-300 educators from around the country and world. The meeting has received high success evaluations from participants.

Program areas at School Reform Initiative

National projects and affiliate seminars are fee for service professional development sessions led by affiliates of the School Reform Initiative (sri) (affiliate seminars) or sessions contracted directly with the national organizations (national projects). Sri fee for service professional development work with School districts and individual schools throughout the country aim to train educators to use the tools and techniques of collaboration and facilitation to develop transformational learning communities in their School settings. Our accomplishments in this area of work include training over 300 new educators on an annual basis in dozens of schools.
National representation includes the promotion of sri's services, expansion of sri's partnerships with like-minded organizations, and national advertising.
The sri annual winter meeting is a 3-day event held in a different u.s. city each year. The meeting brings together 200-300 educators from around the country and world. Our accomplishments in this area of work include high success evaluations from participants stating that their meeting experience impacted their teaching in positive ways, increased their understanding of the importance of addressing issues of equity and excellence for all students with their teaching colleagues, and that new techniques and tools were learned to better meeting the challenging needs of all students and to better develop collaborative practices among School faculty and staff.
