Through pro bono professionals, STLI provides medical, educational, business, agricultural and other training to the people of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kurdistan region of Iraq. STLI's major projects in Kyrgyzstan provide training in a wide variety of fields, including family medicine, nursing, rural health, mental health, women's issues, dental hygiene, community development, caring for and preventing disabilities in children, English language, small business development, agribusiness, and appropriate technologies. STLI's major projects in Kurdistan region of Iraq provide training and/or services in a variety of fields, including family medicine, nursing, mental health (trauma care and counseling), women's health, lactation coaching for mothers of infants, personal hygiene for women and children, dental hygiene, community development, English language, irrigation, agribusiness and small business development.
