Program areas at Sculpture Trails
Sculpture Trails, Inc. uses the entire month of July as a sculptor's paradise workshop. Volunteers, donors, and artists from around the world descend on the property to create new art, repair and maintain existing sculptures, create new trails for new sculptures, and install new donated or loaned pieces. The month ends with a live iron pour called "Fire at Night". The piece created during Fire at Night is crafted by multiple artists who were in attendance during the event and is installed at the park for all to see.
Sculpture in public places provides an every 2 year artwork swap at libraries, universities and in corporate lobbies and courtyards. One annual grant provides the financial ability to grow this program annually.
On-site workshops. Everything from blacksmithing to ceramics. Sculpture Trails Inc. has an Artist in Residence the entire year on the property. This person is responsible for setting up/teaching several workshops in different types of arts and craft. Housed in an upgraded old tobacco barn, this is a place the community comes to create.
Funds collected from general public through onsite and online private donations.
Artist in Residence. Full-time working artist on site for information, basic classes, sculpture maintenance and repairs, community interaction to increase art's presence in the area.
