Program areas at Seafarers' House
Each year, our center hosts visits from nearly 150,000 crew and port community members. Our programs/services included but were not limited to: - pastoral and practical ship visits: 394 - pastoral care issues: 989 - volunteer hours: 1,173 - delivered 1,458 shoebox christmas gifts to visiting crew in 84 ships. - visit crew of as many as 15 ships per month to deliver humanitarian bags full of toiletries and needed items, baked goods, holiday items, puzzles and games, winter hats and jackets, and more. - provided hotspots 27 times for crew members who could not get off ship. - work with 3 mariner friendly congregations who have adopted the crew of three cyclical ships. Visited 41 times with treats, gifts and warm smiles and friendship.
