Community Engagement and Development: Identification of high-priority issues in three neighborhoods in Seattle: (1) Chinatown/International District, (2) Historic Pioneer Square, and the (3) Manufacturing/Industrial Zone. Activities included (a) interviews with key leadership of non-profit community-based organizations providing a wide range of social, health care and economic development services; and (b) initiation of a needs survey of small businesses. Development of a preliminary concept for an art and culture walking path through Seattle. Youth Empowerment/Health & Wellness: Development of a partnership with the RAVE Foundation to develop mini soccer pitches across the State of Washington targeted in under-served communities. Participation in the unveiling celebration of two mini pitches located in the New Holly neighborhood of Seattle, a historically under-served and underrepresented community. Social Inclusion: Establishment of preliminary concepts for creation of a Human Rights Advisory Committee and training opportunities for workforce development.Environmental Sustainability: Development of an environmental plan for hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Seattle to minimize the environmental impacts through waste reduction/recycling and maximizing no/low carbon transportation options.
