Program areas at Self-Help International
Self-Help works to alleviate hunger by assisting the rural poor, small-scale farmers and related enterprises in developing countries. We help them become self-reliant in meeting the needs of families and communities through training, education, leadership development, and other forms of assistance. During the year the organization was able to directly support approximately 1,600 and 500 individuals in ghana and nicaragua, respectively. In addition, the organization estimates that 54,000 people in nicaragua have access to clean water as a result of their efforts.
