Historic life event rentals and commissions:as Pennsylvania's largest history museum and the region's oldest cultural institution, the history center is dedicated to preserving memories and commemorating and celebrating major events - not just the many ways pittsburgh has shaped the world, but business and personal histories as well. These events are all Part of the fabric of what makes pittsburgh an extraordinary city and fosters an appreciation for history for Western pennsylvanians and visitors to our region. During the pandemic we were diligent in following safety protocols, which severely limited our ability to offer our facilities as rental space. In fy2023 we saw the return of a fuller schedule of event rentals for historic life events and corporate events.
Public information programs:the history center offers a full schedule of exhibitions and programs in partnership with local, regional, and national organizations, meant to advance our mission and core initiatives such as america 101. With america 101 we encourage history and civic education and action, creating resources for younger generations and supporting them in finding ways to meaningfully participate in building a better future based on our past.we continue to recover from the covid-19 global pandemic and adapt to the post-pandemic world.
