Program areas at Sequel

The organizations vision is to establish Sequel as the premier resource for elderly people in our region. In order to implement this vision, we put the following operational plans in place this past year: employee handbook was developed; researched and applied for qualifying grants; increased public awareness and developed strategic partnerships; developed framework for hiring of executive director and program manager; wrote job descriptions, researched, and implemented employee benefit package including retirement, health, dental and vision; and, hired an executive director and program manager. We continue the following programs 1) caregiver support - we continue to participate in current caregiver support networks and research opportunities for expansion within those networks. 2) elder angel fund - we developed an application process for at risk seniors to access a specified grant amount for a specific need. We believe that seniors should not have to choose between food and medication or food and dressing supplies. Sadly, that is a scenario that plays out all too frequently in our community. We set up a fund so community members can help bridge the financial gap for vulnerable seniors. 3) angel tree - we partnered with black hills advocate on the collection and distribution of the angel tree christmas gifts. Over 1,500 items were received from donors enabling us to deliver over 400 gifts to some of the isolated seniors in our community.
