Missionthe mission of Serve Spokane is to express gods love to our community by serving people in practical ways. We do this by raising up volunteers who share their time, talents and resources with people in need.program service accomplishmentsserve Spokane maintains a centrally located storage and distribution facility that provides nourishing food and good quality clothing and household items to 3000 people every month.in partnership with 2nd harvest and local schools we provide weekend meals for 85 children every week throughout the school year.in addition to the bite to go meals that we provide we also make sure that the wonderful teachers and staff get fresh baked cookies a few times a month!each summer we deliver weekly food boxes to 50 hungry children who normally depend on school meals for their basic nutrition.21 senior citizens receive senior boxes of food every month.,literally, thousands of people receive tefap government food each month.this year we have also participated with avista to provide funds to people who are struggling to make their utility payments.in 2023:as we have continued our drive through distributions we have seen the number of people we Serve continue to grow to 3000 people each month. The economy, the ukraine war, health and job issues are affecting people and their ability to pay their bills so the food we provide is a big help and we continually hear what a difference it makes in people's lives.our clients come from all walks of life: homeless, elderly, out of work or just going through a hard time and needing some help.as they receive groceries, warm ocats, etc. It frees up funds to pay a utility bill, buy a bus pass or gas to get to work.all of this is possible because of the caring people in our community - sports teams, churches, businesses and individuals have all contributed to Serve our neighbors.
