Program areas at The Severn River Association
Water quality monitoring - monitored 32 stations every week with The help of 60 volunteers. Data collected include, ph, dissolved oxygen, salinity, and clarity. Information is used to produce a state of The Severn report card annually.
Restoration - completed The design phase for our wardour restoration project. Sra recently completed georgetown east neighborhood design and began construction. The organization finished The Severn River action plan which would rank The subwatersheds in terms of need. Sra planted 12.5 million oysters in 2023.
Floating classroom for children grades 4 to 10 to receive environmental education. They perform water quality testing, learn about submerged aquatic vegetation, dead zones, oysters, and how human behavior effects The watershed.
