Program areas at Seymour Pink
Direct financial assistance to individuals going through cancer treatment and recovery. One of our primary current program goals is to provide financial assistance to individuals undergoing treatment for breast cancer or other forms of cancer. Seymour pink believes that by easing the burden of debt, the breast cancer patient can focus on recovery. We have a formal application and board review process in place, and all distribution information is carefully tracked and documented.
The organization maintains an emotional support center for victims of breast cancer. The center serves as the face of the organization and a gathering spot where important information is dissementated to the public. Merchandise with the organization's logo and cancer awarness colors and symbols are sold from the support center but these sales are ancellary to the organizations activities. The purpose of this center is to have a place for breast cancer victims to go to get the emotional support they need. Volunteers of the organization are there to talk to the public and relay the services and information available to them.
Comfort kit baskets donated to individuals fighting cancer. This program has been one of our mainstays since our original formation. It involves the procurement, assembly and donation of "comfort kit" baskets to indviduals who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Such baskets include unique food, personal hygiene, clothing and related items that are specially focused on the needs of treating cancer patients, particularly those undergoing chemotherapy. Kits include items such as oral hygiene products, teas and ginger for nausea, warm socks, a sleep cap and more.
Scholarships to high school students, domations to local hospitals with cancer centers etc.
