Program areas at Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support
First response and printed resourcesthis program provides Support to bereaved parents and families through phone calls, direct communication, visits, online Support and other aspects of after Loss care. Share has 7 different Support groups each month. Share receives, on average, sixty requests from medical professionals & families each month for printed resources. These services are provided free to families, from the initial point of contact and ongoing for as long as needed. Share also implemented the self-care program which includes boxing therapy, nutrition and journaling classes and workshops with a grief counselor as well as a self-care while grieving app. Share served 4,205 families in 2022through these programs
Memorial eventsshare organizes and hosts several memorial events each year for bereaved parents and families. These include burial services, brick dedication ceremonies, candlelight vigils and holiday services. Share also hosts events specific to bereaved siblings and grandparents. All events are free of charge. During 2022 Share reached approximately 3,214 individuals through memorial events.
Education and trainingshare provides education and training to through sessions designed to increase awareness of our mission, promote access to care for families and educate others in the special skills required to care for families who have lost a baby. The program includes local and out of state training events for professional caregivers, parents and other community members. Training curriculum is comprised of several components including but not limited to perinatal grief, cultural and social diversity, rights of parents, parental companioning, memory making and power of presence. Education is also carried out through printed materials, Share's online magazine and intermittent speaking engagements. During 2022 Share provided training to 176 individuals through online training.
Share serves bereaved families through additional programs which include printed material resources, Support of Share chapters around the country, community outreach, and Share's online magazine.
