Shawnee County Medical Society Foundation

To improve access to health care for low-income, uninsured residents of Shawnee County, Kansas; to coordinate donated physician care, hospital services, dental care, and medication assistance to compliment and enhance the work of low-income clinics and other community health agencies; to provide opportunities for physicians, hospitals, local government and community agencies to provide Medical care for the low-income, uninsured; to encourage physicians, nurses, churches, pharmacists, and others to volunteer their services to the low-income, uninsured citizens of the community; advocate for fair and appropriate access to health care and related services for uninsured and low-income individuals; to improve community health, including health education, disease prevention, and Medical prevention; the promotion of personal and civic responsibility for individual and community health; facilitate the planning of health care and coordination between health care providers; and serve as a public forum through which health care issues may be discussed by individuals and organizations.
