Cross Boundary Fuels: Development of a statewide fire plan that includes the Shawnee NF, the Midewin NGL, all state lands. This plan shows how agencies can work together to help each other with a unified plan for fire preparedness,setting standards, identifying staff and process for program decisions.
Oak Forest Eco Restoration - To provide restoration work in the lower counties of Illinois by replacing traditionally soft-wood forets with long-term oak and hardwood habitat.
Oak Ecosystem Restoration - Provides implementation of conservation effors on estimated 4,000 acres of private forest land identified as high-quality by conservation interest in Southern Illinois. These conservation practices reverse the loss of oak dominance while contributing to the conservation of plant and animal species dependent on a healthy oak ecosystem.
Open Canopy - Provides boots-on-the-ground funding for landowners in the Southern Illinois region to improve public and private woodlands for long term conservation
