Program areas at ShelterCare

Homeless services: Sheltercare provides emergency housing, transitional housing, and prevention services to unhoused community members or those at risk of losing their housing. 576 families were provided financial assistance and case management to avoid losing their housing. 10 families were temporarily housed when experiencing a crisis in their housing. During their stay, those families work with staff to secure permanent affordable housing and upon exit, 5 out of 10 transitioned to permanent housing. In addition, Sheltercare also provided short term housing for 55 homeless adults who needed a safe place to continue recovery after a hospital stay. 28 of those individuals were chronically ill. The commons on mlk also provided 65 chronically homeless individuals with permanent supportive housing.
Property management services: services include providing property management services for supported housing programs in eugene and springfield, as well as property management services for 3 hud properties that Sheltercare manages.
Mental health services: behavioral health and permanent supported housing services include longer-term mental health treatment and supportive services to assist homeless individuals in obtaining and maintaining housings. Programs include state rental assistance program, scattered site supported housing and services offered at various locations through-out eugene and springfield. Sheltercare provided long term supported housing to 150 homeless adults who are living with a mental illness or other serious disability. 134 individuals received behavioral health services and developed treatment plans to learn how to manage their mental health symptoms.
