The Coalition improves access to the outdoors through trail development and advocates for safe spaces. SVBC volunteers build and maintain natural surface trails on public lands while raising funds for more expansive trails. Additionally, they lead group rides, raise awareness around biking issues, and offer ShenRock - a youth mountain bike program with trained coaches.

Program areas at Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition

SVBC volunteers build and maintain natural surface trails on our public lands. The Coalition also raises funds and secures grants to build more expansive trails on public and publicly accessible lands. SVBC leads group rides and raises awareness around the need for safe and equitable space for biking and walking in our cities, towns, and rural spaces.
Bikes for Neighbors Program provided refurbished bicycles and education to participants who needed bicycles for transportation. ShenRock is a youth mountain bike program that provides a structure for students to explore and enjoy mountain biking on local trails in a team environment with trained coaches.
