Program areas at Shore Community Services

Community integrated living arrangements (cilas) - homes in the Community where two to seven people reside. The program consists of an array of Services designed to meet the needs of each resident on a long-term basis. Staff support is available on a 24-hour basis. Residents attend one of Shore's day programs during the week.
Shore training center - provides developmental training, supported employment and job placement Services for over 75 adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. For individuals ready to work in the Community, the job placement program helps them find the most suitable job and encourages them to work independently. Vocational opportunities are available to individuals whose levels demand closer supervision and guidance at the koenig center. Individuals earn a wage according to their productivity and skills. Local businesses contract with Shore for collating, boxing and shrink-wrapping type jobs. By earning a wage and learning vocational skills, individuals are building a more self-sufficient lifestyle.
Buehler house/shore homes east and Shore homes west - houses 24 residents in a 24-hour staff supported living environment as similar as possible to life in mainstream society. Residents are encouraged to learn to interact with their Community and to become less dependent on others. All residents are engaged in daytime employment, training, day or senior leisure programming.
