Silence the Shame empowers and educates communities on mental health and wellness through panel discussions with mental health professionals, equity experts, celebrities, influencers, and individuals with lived experience to Silence their Shame, eliminate stigma and promote acceptance in their communities. They also provide virtual and face-to-face Self-care Saturdays sessions to engage people in wellness activities to reduce feelings of stress, manage mental illness, and promote social connectedness. Each event offers an opportunity to learn how to practice strategies at home.

Program areas at Silence the Shame

the conversations & care program is a community initiative focused on promoting mental health awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness. Through panel discussions, self-care activities, and educational sessions, the program aims to increase understanding and acceptance of mental health issues. By providing support services and resources, the program seeks to connect individuals and families with the help they need to manage their mental health effectively
the community mental wellness training program offers engaging and informative 60-minute training sessions to increase mental health literacy and provide practical prevention and treatment options. Participants have the opportunity to choose from a variety of seminars covering topics such as mental health, substance use, trauma, suicide, and lifestyle management. In addition, we provide evidence-based training programs such as mental health first aid and qpr to equip individuals with the tools they need to support themselves and others in times of need.
the youth mental wellness community outreach & practice effort (cope) clinic is a comprehensive program that focuses on supporting the mental health of youth aged 10-19. It includes educational workshops, hands-on activities, and open discussions to teach coping techniques for stress management and resilience building. Participants interact with mental health professionals, engage in coping activities, and learn practical skills to navigate challenges.
