General programs - general programs are non-discretionary funds received for fee-for-services that are not tied to any specific program. These funds were received from the city of long beach to provide mental health services to persons disproportionately impacted by covid in which indigent black community members of long beach were impacted. We received grant funding from the city of los angeles to provide mental health services, crisis intervention and outreach and engagement to women and girls involved in sex trafficking. We received non-discretionary funding from the liberty hill foundation to provide mental health counseling to women. We received funding from the state of California to provide mental health services to women who have been victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
La city library mental health social services - we were funded by the city of los angeles public library to provide mental health de-esclation services to patrons who posed a threat to fellow library patrons or staff at the library. We were funded to provide mental health and social services resource linkage to patrons who were homeless and in need of community social service support. We were funded to provide workshops and training on trauma informed care to the staff of the library to improve healthy, positive engagement with homeless patrons and patrons who are experiencing mental illness.
Cda patient representative - we were funded by the state of California department of aging to provide health advocacy services to residents in 72 skilled nursing facilities who where medically determined to lack decision-making capacity to make medical decisions about their care as residents. Sistahfriends served as public patient representatives on their behalf to represent them in interdisciplinary team decision making meetings to ensure that their best medical interest was represented and advocated for their wishes as required and expected by the state of California.
