The Sitka Homeless Coalition is currently developing the hitx'i saani project, a 12-unit permanent supportive housing development for individuals experiencing homelessness. The Sitka Homeless Coalition currently operates a winter shelter as well; however this service didn't begin until after the end of fy2023. 3,380 of construction costs were capitalized in fy2023 for the housing development.
The Sitka Homeless Coalition provides services to those experiencing chronic homelessness, including a showers and laundry program and a dinner program. Shower and laundry services are offered twice-weekly. In addition, cold weather gear, including tents, sleeping bags, etc. Were offered. During this reporting period, an average of twelve meals per day were provided to those experiencing homelessness.
