El camino community college:cosponsoring industry process improvement programs and supporting local mfg education programs.
Fast break:is a development project smi is working on. It is a capstone project that addresses systemic weaknesses in regional communities. Fast break transforms lives through innovative job readiness training. The 10 week intensive, whole brain, immersion type course quickly improves foundational learning skills as it helps students gain career direction and grow emotionally. Graduates are placed in career track jobs or enter college without needing remediation. The program also reduces employee recruitment costs and increases tax revenue for local communities. This program continues to be in development by volunteers and supported by ongoing administrative infrastructure of smi.
