In 2022, despite the persistent post-covid-19 pandemic restrictions, such as the mandatory use of facemasks, limitations on the number of people in our facility, and the use of additional safety measures, our commitment to delivering high-quality, free dental services to over 55,000 children and their care providers remained unwavering. Throughout 2021, we focused on the implementation of minimally invasive procedures, particularly silver diamine fluoride (sdf) and glass ionomer cement (gic), as part of our innovative smart filling procedure. However, in 2022, we shifted our resources towards resuming more complex treatments such as root canals and dental surgery, which require extended chair time. We persisted in our initiative to distribute biosafety packages to organizations with limited resources, enabling them to access our dental clinic while ensuring adherence to all biosafety standards, thereby safeguarding the well-being of both the children we serve and our team. Notably, 2022 marked the revival of our community service outreach programs, with the community of marquina chosen as the focus. We established the unidad educativa marquina as our operational base, with 1,500 attending students. Collaborative meetings were held with marquina school authorities, the school parents board, and local leaders to articulate the scope and advantages of sdf and gic.
