Program areas at Smyrna Charity Assistance Fund
MCHRA Meals on Wheels delivers meals to homebound senior citizens. The volunteers also provide a daily well-being check to the senior citizen. The agency will also provide donated pet foods so the citizen may more easily afford their pets. MCHRA Meals on Wheels served 60 residents.
The Nourish Food Bank exists to feed families across Rutherford County. Each client receives a grocery cart of food consisting of perishable and non-perishable items. Personal care items are also provided. The Nourish Food Bank served approximately 9000 residents.
Smyrna Senior Citizens provides services and programs for older adults in the Smyrna area. These programs promote healthy aging and independence. The agency provides opportunies for social interaction, recreation, and basic support.
Domestic Violence Program - provides shelter and food to victims of domestic violence. Served 218 residents of Smyrna.
CASA of Rutherford County - provides Juvenile Court services. Provided services to 91 Smyrna residents.
Community Helpers addresses the fundamental needs of the most vulnerable populations in Rutherford County. This organization assists individuals and families experiencing unexpected financial crises, which can lead to utility and housing struggles as well as issues securing prescribed medications.
The Journey Home, Inc., is an outreach service for the homeless and disadvantaged. 125 residents were served.
Community Servants, Inc. provides services in a multicultural housing community. Provides help to refugees as well as other citizens.
Doors of Hope is a long term rehabilitative reentry program where women being released from incarceration or drug rehab can restructure life for a better future. This program serves approximately 1800 women.
Boys and girls club works to save and change the lives of children and teens, especailly those who need us most, but providing a safe, positive, and engaging environment and programs that prepare and inspire them to achieve great futures. More than 2,600 youths across Rutherford County are taking advantage of these programs.
Stepping Stones Safe Haven - provides emergency shelter in times of need. Provided services to 7 residents.
Possibility Place provides job training and volunteer skills where the participant can contribute to society and find personal fulfillment. They also provide training for independent living skills, computer skills, and healthy lifestyle habits. This organization gives developmentally challenegd individuals opportunities for the participants to grow mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
Journey in Community Living provides community participation services, industrial training services, job training and placement services, special services, residential services and transportation services to more than 120 adults with intellectual disabilities in both Rutherford and Cannon Counties in Middle Tennessee.
Global Hope Myanmar is an international organization that brinfs hope to people whose lives have been shattered by tragedies, poverty, and ignorance.
