Program areas at Social Innovation Laboratory
The k-prep project engages family and consumer science (fcs) teachers in rural Kansas high schools to become trained facilitators of the evidence- based love notes 4.0 (ln ebp) curriculum. Teachers return to their classrooms with an engaging program that is proven to prevent teen pregnancy. Funded by the family and youth services bureau, the progect aims to engage more than 900 youth during the 36-month program
Sil has been awarded a 24-month project grant funded by the family and youth services bureau (fysb) to fund adolescent pregnancy prevention programming in rural Kansas high schools. Using the newly updated love notes 4.0 sexual risk avoidance (ln sra) curriculum, sil provides training opportunities to family and consumer science teachers to implement the curriculum in their classrooms. This project helps expand and evidence- based model of implementation utilizing teacher as faciliatotrs of healthy relationship curriculum. This grant is funded under the title v competitive abstience education program.
The Oklahoma better futures project (okbfp) seeks to work in partnership with family and consumer sciences teachers across Oklahoma to bring proven, evidence-based curricula to classsroom in high-risk communities that will prepare participating teachers to achieve positive results in relationship education. The Oklahoma family, career, and community leaders of america (ok-fccla) in collaboration wiht the Social Innovation labortory (sil) is offering family and consumer sciences (facs) teachers the opportunity to receive free training and continuing education from the dibble insitute using their evidenced-based curriculum love notes sra and relationship smarts plus 4.0.
