Society for Integrative Oncology is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to its members. Sio also serves as a convenient platform for the presentation, discussion, and peer review of evidence-based research. Additionally, Sio has established strategic partnerships with journals such as the Journal of Integrative and Complementary Medicine and Oncology to increase the society's visibility in their field of evidence-based research.

Program areas at Society for Integrative Oncology

Sio has continued to lead the field of Integrative Oncology by hosting an international research workshop in limassol, cyprus; developing educational training modules funded by the scheidel foundation on the 2022 joint sio- asco guideline publication on management of cancer pain; and publishing a new joint guideline on the care of anxiety and depressive symptoms in cancer, which is being promoted internationally. A second grant from the scheidel foundation (45,000) was received to develop training modules with cme for this guideline. Sio also formed a reciprocal conference session partnership with mascc (multi-national association of supportive care in cancer), and continues to partner with key organizations and journals. The Society celebrated its 20th anniversary and international conference in banff, alberta with a record number of scientific abstract submissions, an e-book publication on the history of sio, and a successful donation drive (over 85,000).
