Program areas at SRNT
The Society's 2023 annual meeting was held in san antonio, Texas, with aspects of the conference made available virtually. Conference attendance was just over 1,100. The food & drug administration (fda) gave a $50,000 grant to support the 2023 annual meeting.
Srnt-university continued to provide free online education to the nicotine/tobacco Research community. Srnt-university is a collection of organized, curatedtraining, scientific articles, and tools and resources for people working in Nicotine and Tobacco Research and related professions.
Journal - the Society's journal, Nicotine & Tobacco Research is one of the world's few peer-reviewed journals devoted exclusively to the study of Nicotine and Tobacco. It provides a forum for empirical funding, critical reviews, and conceptual papers on the many aspects of Nicotine and Tobacco including Research from the bio-behavioral, neurobiological, molecular biologic, epidemiological, prevention, and treatment arenas.
Networks - the Society's networks, which were created in 2009, have continued to flourish and to grow. There are currently eight topical networks: basic science, treatment, adolescents, public policy, global health, genetics, health disparities, and trainees. Networks are the home within the Society for members who share common interest by area of Research focus and provide educational opportunities as well as networking and the opportunity to participate in special projects undertaken on behalf of the Society. One half-time employee is devoted to supporting the Society's network.
