Society of Critical Care Medicine Northern California Chapter strives to improve care for acute life-threatening illnesses and injuries and develop optimal facilities to achieve this goal. Its Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) Course provides a 2-day comprehensive training program that includes lectures and skill stations aimed at equipping non-intensivists with skills to provide the best care for critically ill and injured patients. FCCS is an endorsed training course by the Leapfrog Organization for first care providers.
