Conferences - with 20 conferences throughout Western Kentucky, St. Vincent de paul provides person-to-person assistance to impoverished members of their community. Conference members provide direct assistance in many forms, such as groceries, utility payments, rent or mortgage assistance, prescriptions, or simply listening with compassion and offering prayers.
In august we received a red cross disaster grant to supply thru our national disaster services house in the box to 350 families affected by the december 2021 tornado in Western Kentucky. This grant will continue until march 2024 when it ends and we would have helped all 350 families.
Thrift stores - the Council operates four thrift stores where donated clothing and household items are distributed free of charge or sold at nominal cost.
Our organization started collecting funds to help support victims of the december 2021 tornados in Western Kentucky. We are dispersing these funds to survivors as they are needed.
