SWE India Trip The objective of this trip abroad is to push members to gain cultural awareness and to develop leadership skills in an environment outside their comfort zones. SWE members plan and execute a week long STEM Outreach program for a group of 80+ students at Bharat's Children Academy and Junior College in Walchandnagar, India.
Outreach Our organization seeks to educate young women, from Girl Scouts to college students, about engineering. These activities did include workshops with local schools (middle and high); events catered toward four distinct groups: Elementary-aged children, Girl Scouts, middle schoolers, and high school students; and a week-long engineering summer camp for high students. All events focused on engineering education and outreach through design-based activities. These expenses reflect Outreach expenses during the year $16,396.27 (see Schedule O) and SEE Camp expenses $30,736.85 (see Schedule O).
National Conference This year the Society of Women Engineers National Conference was held in person. The section paid for registration expenses, meals, hotels, and transportation for any member who wanted to attend. The conference served as a professional development opportunity with events meant to help students prepare for a career in engineering.
Other programs include scholarships, public relations, corporate industry sessions, women in leadership conference, graduate student events, and competitive design team.
