Program areas at Solar Responders
Solar Responders was formed in response to the puerto rico fire department's demand for reliable power after hurricane maria struck puerto rico in 2017 causing the longest blackout in us history. As a result first Responders were forced to use dirty, unreliable diesel generators to power their stations. As diesel fuel ran out and mechanical parts failed, first Responders became stranded, unable to receive and send emergency calls. Solar Responders installs, owns, and operates Solar power and battery storage systems on first Responders stations so emergency workers can focus on serving the public during power outages rather than keeping their diesel generators running. Abundant and reliable sunshine is more dependable, efficient, economical, and eco-friendly than fossil fuels. Our Solar installations are designed to work 24/7, when the sun is not shining, and when the power grid fails. With Solar power and battery storage, first Responders will have the ability to communicate and save lives without disruption after a natural disaster.
