Creative Sonoma - The Creative Sonoma program awarded grants in two separate grant programs: the Arts Education Framework Grants awarded to three school districts, and the ArtSurround Placemaking and Public Art Grants awarded to thirteen artists. Additionally, funding supported the development of a county-wide public art policy and ordinance, as well as for the 2nd annual State of Arts Education convening. These activities were primarily funded using grants received from The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and Manitou Fund.
Fall Economic PerspectiveThe Fall Economic Perspective is an annual event developed for local businesses, governments, and organizations to provide detailed regional analysis of economic trends. The events theme, Navigating An Uncertain Economy, explored what growing economic uncertainty means for our economy. The event featured Claudia Sahm, Ph.D., a well-known and highly regarded expert on monetary and fiscal policy. The event was held at the Flamingo Resort in Santa Rosa.
Spring Economic PerspectiveThe Spring Economic Perspective gave a first look into Sonoma County's economic future for 2023, providing context and understanding as the county launched into the new year. Dr. Jerry Nickelsburg gave the keynote address followed by Supervisor Chris Coursey and community leaders, Kathy Goodacre, Chief Executive Officer of Career Technical Education Foundation; Raissa de la Rosa, Deputy Director with the City of Santa Rosa Economic Development; and Chris Denny, President and Lead Strategist at The Engine is Red, who discussed working together across sectors to accomplish community economic goals. The event was held at the Doubletree Hotel in Rohnert Park.
