Sonoma County Mycological Association is an educational, public benefit corporation that dedicates itself to the study and research of mycology. It encourages public education of fungi's unique role in maintaining the health of our woodland system. In the past fiscal year, SOMA consulted with Hospital Emergency Health Care Personnel regarding the identification of wild mushrooms as a possible cause of patient poisoning. Moreover, it led nine (9) forays to collect and identify wild mushrooms and nine (9) educational programs.
