Program areas at Redwood Trails Alliance

Construction project - a major program accomplishment in 2023 was the initiation of construction of a trail system for napa county regional park & open space district at the newly acquired suscol headwaters park. The new Trails, built to minimize environmental impacts and emphasize recreation, provide access to the public to this hidden wilderness just outside the city of napa.
Construction overhead - rta continued our education with the conservation corps north bay and the sonoma regional parks youth crew to teach trail construction and related construction skills with a combination of class time, field training and hands on training. We built relationships with the equestrian, hiking, running and biking communites as well as local conservation organizartions. Rta brought back a popular moutnain bike race at skyline wilderness park in napa and worked with the norcal interscholastic league to advocate for spaces for high school mountain bikers to pratice.
General programs - training youth and volunteers. Another major service program and rta mission objective is training and educating youth and volunteers on trail maintenance and construction. With projects in 2023 leading the conservation corps north bay, sonoma county regional parks youth crew, and community volunteers, rta prepared new sonoma county regional park acquisitions at hood mt. Regional park and monte rio redwoods open space preserve and regional park for public access with construction of Trails, cleanup of trash and debris, installation of signs and landscape restoration.
Other programs - advocacy, education, rta dirt days, fiscal sponsorship, sonoma.
