Program areas at Sonoma Sister Cities Association

The Sonoma-Kaniv Committee is working to provide humanitarian aid to our Sister City Kaniv Ukraine and made contribution of $136,000. The city is not under invasion, but providing food, clothing and shelter to an average of 4000 war refugees who have either lost their homes or are in transit to other, safer locations. Also, they apply the funds to repair roads and purchase body protection materials. On March 17, 2022, Sonoma Mayor and Ukraine Consul General hosted the press conference to condemn Russian invasion with proclamation of support for freedom and democracy in Ukraine. http://kaniv-rada.gov.u Two main persons: Mayor Ihor Renkas and Anatoly Leontyev,President of the Kaniv Ukraine Friendship Society.
Sonoma-Tokaj internship program, with costs of approximately $3500.
