Program areas at Soroptimist International of the Americas - 111101 Anacortes Wa

SIA supports community organizations that are tax exempt by making donations to them through our grant procedure as well as through our committees of service and special projects.
SIA gives awards to individuals using the Soroptimist Federation model for Live Your Dream. Violet Richardson Women of Distinction awards. All applicants are screened and interviewed for the awards that are merit and financial needs based. We gave out 6 awards to individuals through the Awards Committee program.
We awarded 20 scholarships this fiscal year. We partner with Skagit Valley College to award scholarships to individuals that are pursuing vocational and technical careers and meet financial need criteria. We also award scholarships in a variety of areas using outside judges to review scholarship applications. These are paid directly to colleges on behalf of the chosen applicants.
