Program areas at Soup Kitchen 411
In 2022, the world began to recover from the COVID pandemic. In the US there were some easing of lock-downs and restrictions on movement, jobs and community engagement. However, many people continued to struggle to earn income to pay for living expenses including food; consumer prices for food and fuel rose dramatically due in part to supply chain issues. The Company continued its program (FeedNJ) that addressed both hunger in NJ and the damaged food service industry in NJ. In addition, the Company was again awarded grants funded by the State of New Jersey Economic Development Authority and the County of Monmouth to greatly expand what the Company was already doing with its FeedNJ program. The Company raised funds from individuals, businesses and charitable organizations as well as grants from foundations and governmental agencies to purchase prepared meals from local restaurants and had them delivered to local hunger relief organizations. During the years of 2020 - 2023, inclusive, the Company provided approximately 750,000 meals to the hungry in NJ.
