The South County Economic Development Councils FY22-23 highlights several notable accomplishments. Through the organization of two impactful forums focusing on infrastructure and binational cooperation, over 300 businesses and residents were empowered with essential informtion and opportunities for collaboration. In addition the SCEDC Annual Economic Summit attended by more than 300 local leaders, brought together federal, state, and local decision makers to help enhance and share the region through international dialogue and coordinated discussions.
By expanding our business outreach program and hiring a dedicated coordinator, we successfully engaged with over 3,000 businesses annually, providing tailored support and facilitating communication with local government. Additionally, the launch of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy has fostered a new generation of local business owners, enhancing both personal growth and job prospects within our communities. Our continued partnership with the local government has enabled us to deliver coordinated resources and support through programs surrounding flood mitigation and recovery, direct business support initiatives, and sector specific training and information. Furthermore, our enhanced digital marketing efforts have generated significant impressions, leasing to increased engagement, resource accessibility, and vital connections between job seekers and employment centers, further enriching our regions economic landscape.
