Program areas at South Dakota Kids Belong
I Belong Project Since beginning in 2018, weve filmed 190 youth waiting for adoptive families. 54 youth now have finalized adoptions and 45 youth are in the process of adoption. Since 2018, weve received over 2,000 inquiries from potential adoptive families.
Stronger Families Together A statewide collaboration to elevate quality care opportunities for those impacted by foster care adoption. The initiative has led to 934 foster homes and a record year for foster family recruitment. Established a tribal foster family committee with and has involved over 50 people in the government sector along with government and tribal leaders.
Foster Friendly Businesses Created a Foster Friendly App to allow local businesses to provide discounts and services to children and families in the foster care system. Over 274 businesses foster parents are involved and benefiting from the services and discounts.
