South Dakota Sportsmen Against Hunger pays the costs to process game animals donated by hunters, euthanized for population control or research purposes, and salvaged from vehicle collisions. The processed meat is distributed to food-insecure families through a system of food banks and charitable food distributors. More than 17,000 pounds of meat were donated during fy 2022. More than 16,500 pounds of meat were donated during fy 2023. More than 14,400 pounds of meat were donated during fy 2024.
