The South End Rowing Club has a storied history since it's founding in 1873. We are the oldest athletic club west of the Mississippi and one of the oldest institutions in San Francisco. We exist as a community that combines world class rowing, swimming, handball and running with a multi-generational membership that is inclusive, welcoming and supportive. Whether it is because it provides us with the opportunities to challenge ourselves or simply to be ourselves, the South End forms an important part of our lives.
