ADS: Aging and Disability Services, City of Seattle:Through the ADS contract in 2023, SPSC provided services and resources to BIPOC Seniors: 90% of seniors served are immigrants or refugees from Cambodia, Vietnam, Mexico, and South America, with 80%+ living below poverty level. Services/resources provided include cultural meals made from scratch, fresh produce boxes, social service support sessions, exercise class, Zumba, dancing, Karaoke, field trips, Book Club, distributions of information on health, wellness and Covid safety, and cultural celebrations.
Senior Health Promotion, King County:In 2023, King County's Senior Health Promotion contract supported the salary of Lead Social Worker, Janette Garcia, MSW as she continued to grow and evolve SPSC's new social services department. Objectives of this work have included establishing policy, procedure, and best practices, collaboration on the use of a new database, oversight of HIPAA compliance, and management of two bilingual social work support staff. Supportive social services are provided to SPSC's participants who are primarily refugees and immigrants navigating language and cultural barriers in Spanish, Khmer, Vietnamese, and English.
King County VSHS Levy:Through the King County VSHSL Senior Center contract in 2023, SPSC provided services and resources to BIPOC Seniors: 90% of seniors served are immigrants or refugees from Cambodia, Vietnam, Mexico, and South America, with 80%+ living below poverty level.
