Program areas at SAFE
Operated two food pantries in Alamance Co for a combined total of 3 days per week, serving over 4000 households comprised of over 13,000 individuals in 2023. SAFE provided food staples, fresh produce (from local farms and groceries), meat, eggs and milk. SAFE helped connect families to other local resources as needed.
Congregational community nursing clinic operated in partnership with Cone Health providing personal health counseling, assisting with navigating the health care system, nurse assessments and screening and education on disease prevention, management and medications. Also providing healthy food and recipes tailored for specific medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and hypertension.
Kids Summer Food Program and Outreach providing access to a variety of community resources including educational, health, nutrition and dental as well as food to fill gap of school breakfast and lunch.
