Program areas at Southern Arizona Roadrunners Club
Hosted 20 community running events in Southern Arizona, providing and encouraging a safe environment for participants of all ages and abilities. As part of the community running events, sar provides charitable donations through "race beneficiary" sharing to various community non-profit organizations.
Operate a free "fitkidz" running event program to encourage youth health and fitness.
Provide grants through "children's fitness fund" to non-profit organizations helping to promote fitness activities for children, including schools and programs for disadvantaged youth. In 2023, we provided grants to 5 different non-profit organizations through the children's fitness fund.
Sar also provides a free website at http://www.runsar.org with information regarding community athletic events and educational resources, and publishes a periodic newsletter with educational information to promote healthy, active lifestyle for runners and athletes of all ages and experience levels. Miscellaneous other programs to encourage and support the local community with fitness-related activities.
