Program areas at Southern District Institute of Transportation Engineers

Our accomplishments in 2023 included:Developed and disseminated technical information, newsletters, website, strategic planning and leadership training.Held Annual Meeting in Savannah, Georgia with 30 Professional Development Hours available to over 400 attendees Continued to develop additional Leadership Training materials for courses available to members. Provided financial support for two members to participate in a year-long International ITE Leadership program. Provided support grants to 19 Student Chapters of the organization, held student paper competition, hosted a traffic bowl competition for students. Helped sponsor a three-day Student Leadership Summit at Mississippi State University. It included over 50 students from various southeastern U.S. Universities.Continued an outreach project on distracted driving.
