Prevention education: coordinated the funding & purchase of prevention curricula license for two school districts in wichita co., tx. Facilitated prevention curricula for middle school students at one school district.southern Grit Advocacy (sga) is one of 59 community education partners with the national center for missing & exploited children (ncmec) & as part of the pilot program in 2021, helped to establish the nationwide program.3,380 students were trained and/or received tools that empowered them to identify healthy relationships, set personal boundaries, recognize human trafficking, and learn how to get help for themselves or someone else. In partnership with kfdx-tv, aired ncmec videos promoting personal safety to elementary students.
Training: 396 adults strengthened their communities by learning more about human trafficking and the importance of open communication with children and youth.
Awareness: in partnership with wichita county tx, launched a media campaign on kfdx-tv to raise awareness of grooming techniques, online safety, the dangers of pornography, and general awareness of human trafficking among individuals with developmental disabilities. Videos were produced by and shared in collaboration with the Alabama council on developmental disabilities. The potential reach of this campaign was 40,000 households. These videos were also shared with the shac team for wfisd. 24.1k people were reached through social media strategies. In partnership with kfdx-tv, aired ncmec videos promoting personal safety to elementary students.
