Education for and celebration of women in philanthropy * giving matters committee identifies and provides small group learning experiences for individual women philanthropists* giving matters committee hosts an annual event to connect women in the community to the organizations represented in the Chapter membership to learn about volunteer and donor opportunities, attended by more than 250 women in 2014* giving matters committee hosts an annual luncheon with an inspirational speaker on women and philanthropy attended by 250 women* giving matters committee works with community youth development to identify 1-2 female high school philanthropists who each receive scholarships
Professional development for afp members and non members: the Chapter provided 12 professional development opportunities in 2014, including:* fundraisers forum: a half-day conference in collaboration with the community foundation of sarasota county attended by more than 150 people* a year-long mentoring program that matched 6 junior members with senior Professionals for one-on-one professional advice and guidance* monthly luncheons featuring eleven speakers on a wide range of topics regularly attended by 45-75 individuals* planet philanthropy: 4-6 Chapter members serve in leadership roles on the Florida caucus each year to plan and present the annual statewide professional development conference, attended by more than 350 people. The Chapter also serves as the fiscal agent for planet philanthropy.
Recognition of outstanding volunteers and philanthropists* the Chapter hosted its 29th annual national philanthropy day luncheon in november 2014 to honor the outstanding corporate community partner, outstanding foundation of the year, outstanding volunteer fundraiser, and the outstanding individual philanthropist. More than 30 nominations were received for the awards and more than 410 people attended the luncheon.
