Southwest Georgia Housing Opportunities Fmrly Homeless Resource Network

The organization addresses barriers and meets needs through direct service, information and referral services, and partnerships with other area organizations for those experiencing homelessness. In fiscal year 2022-23 the organization engaged 72 households comprised of low income people living with hiv/aids in Homeless service programs. The organization assisted 24 households experiencing homelessness to obtain permanent Housing, and 21 households received emergency assistance to avoid homelessness. Another 17 low-income households received additional Housing support in the form of regular case management and ongoing subsidized Housing. We also assisted people to overcome various barriers they may face to obtain services, such as birth certificates for identification and Housing, and other identification documents for clients, often obtaining free or reduced cost identification. Clients are assisted with food stamp and Housing authority applications as needed, and bus identification and passes are provided for transportation needs.
